peppers...new stuff

Had a chance to try a new small craft salsa and also a wicked hot concoction called Liquid Lava...thumbs up to both!  Started moving stuff into the new Wellness Cneter location, weather has been absolutely uncooperative...lots of rain.  It has actually been kinda lousy for a couple days now...spent 3 hours cleaning out our koi pond in the rain yesterday...(don't you hate when something relaxing requires so much work?)  We "donated" a few of our koi to a local pond store, bringing our pond population down to a reasonable nine...kept all the best koi and one humongous goldfish...now the pond should be self sustaining...time will tell...speaking of time, our medical press release is almost complete, hope to have it by the end of the week.  we know of a lot of doctors in the area begging to find quality referrals for the health and fitness industry, we hope to be leading the pack by mid-fall.  Look for a couple reviews of studies over the next few days...we like it when the studies make sense!  As for book progress...not too much over the weekend...once the move is complete and the marketing efforts are underway, it will be easier.

another day...

Another day, another full schedule.  Work should not be this much fun...we are anxious about getting our Wellness Center up to full speed, the opportunity to work with an entirely new market is always exciting.  Just finished a seminar with a highly regarded trainer regarding his approach to medical referrals...we are actually a couple steps ahead of the game, and anxious to turn up the heat on OUR approach.  Suggested to a few clients the humorous possibilities (in jest) of taking pictures of everyone at their most extreme exertion and posting them on the site as a collage...everyone thought it was funny, NO ONE wanted to participate...good thing I was only kidding...I am also looking forward to our possible involvement in an article with the NY Times...we had a professional alliance recommend us for the article (thank you Radial Wellness!), details to follow.  Looking forward to tomorrow...another full day with the weekend just on the other side of it!

Getting serious...

Hello everyone, Dan here!  I am finally recognizing the value in posting our projects and thoughts on a Blog (I'm not dense or anything, just busy).  Cherie and I are in constant contact with our clients, but it allows little time to inform past and possible future clients about what we are working on; hopefully this will be a good step.  The network of doctors and health professionals we are working with continues to grow, along with the studies we regularly review...look for our feedback and commentary on the most current studies.  We are hoping (fingers crossed, rabbit's foot, wish upon a star, blah-blah) to add new posts daily.

Things have been almost overwhelmingly difficult, time-wise.  But we finally have most of the summer events behind us.  The Woodward Dream Cruise lucked out about mid-afternoon by finally sending the rain somewhere else, allowing about 1 million people and 40,000 custom vehicles to enjoy the event.  We took the Trans Am Convertible out and found ourselves transported to a simpler time...very cool.  As for progress on my 70 Corvette....well, let me get back to you on that (a bit of a "back-burner" project right now...).

Things we are working on:  Our Wellness Center (Houston Fitness II) is getting closer to our move-in date, the equipment is ready.  Progress on our Kid's Exercise and Nutrition book is steady (look for mid September to meet the characters!).  Our 8-week Metabolic Tune-Up Guide is also close to being finished (finishing the pictures over the next few weeks)...if you have ever felt like you have a slow metabolism, this book can help by addressing ALL of the things you can do to get things back up to full speed.  It is a simple, direct approach, and, typical of our training approach ("The Chile Pepper Approach to Exercise"), there are no gimmicks, no gadgets and no miracle pills; just common sense and science applied to exercise and health.  A lot of our clients like the fact that they have to eat MORE to lose body fat...a heckuva lot more fun than starving yourself and missing out on all the good stuff!

Lastly, our Salsa of the Month and our "secret" salsa project are storming ahead...Turnin' up the Heat!
